Kaela came to me early 2017 to set up plans for her wedding in June of 2018. We had discussed the details, and I was so excited to polish off my June wedding dates with a sunflower, summery wedding.
Fast forward to fall. I get a message from Kaela informing me that her brother was going to be deployed in January, and we would need to move her date up to December! We finalized the plans for December 16th, and things got rushed!
At Tanner+Kaela's engagement shoot, we discussed how she would be changing her floral arrangements and decor. Regardless of the season, I knew it was going to be a fabulous event.
A week before the big day, Kaela and I frantically exchanged messages back and forth about the pending snow storm! We were hopeful that a layer of white sparkles would cover the Kittanning park and make the pictures that much more special.
The day finally came! There was about 3 inches of snow on the ground and I couldn't have been more excited. I LOVE the snow and love shooting in it even more.
Kaela wore a gown unlike any I had seen before. It was champagne in color and the detail was absolutely gorgeous. She did all of her floral on her own. Of course, she had to wear her signature cowgirl boots.
I think we too often forget how truly beautiful a church can be for photos. We spend a few moments capturing these two before heading out into the bitter cold.
We walked across the street from the church and embraced the beauty in the park. Everyone stayed warm by passing around pickle juice-vodka shots & crown royal. The boys wanted nothing more than to pelt Tanner with snow balls... Of course I told them that IF we were going to do it, it was going to be on my count!
The reception was held at the Parish hall. The food was great, and Irish car bomb cupcakes even better. As usual, I pigged out at the cookie table. There were heartfelt speeches, and one of the most face-turn-red garter bouquet tosses EVER. I guess this guy has a reputation for catching the garter! We ended the night with plenty of misty eyes after a heart felt dance between Kaela and her brothers.
I surely enjoyed this wedding, and am so excited to see what this new family will do in the next few years!
